Members of the Southern Current solar installation team recently wrapped up a week-long course designed to enhance the care and safety taken on job sites. The program was 100% voluntary, meaning no local, state, or other authorities ordered this training to occur.

At Southern Current, we’ve always placed an emphasis on the customer experience, and these sessions emphasize the quality standards of our company, ensuring our employees have adequate training to deliver a superb service.

Southern Current employees Adam Eiserman, Jeremy Joiner, and Jeb Anderson discuss solar panel roof mounts at the company office in Charleston.

Electrical & Ladder Safety

  • How to check voltage after install
  • Grounding, ground-faults, and surge protection

Tool Handling

In partnership with Milwaukee Tools our employees also learned proper tool handling techniques, including the causes and risk factors of ergonomic injuries and how to minimize these risks.

First Aid & CPR

CPR and first aid training were also conducted, with every Southern Current employee who is involved in field operations successfully obtaining both CPR and first aid certificates.

Driving Safety

An 8-hour Defensive Driving course was performed, with emphasis on our employees taking concern for themselves and other drivers on the road. Our team studied practical knowledge and techniques to avoid crashes, and to choose safe, responsible and lawful driving behaviors.
